Welcome to our first edition of the Ripple Ventures Fund Newsletter! This is where, once a month, we’ll share all of the cool things we have going on at Ripple Ventures from fund updates to things we’re reading. We’re excited to launch our March edition today! 🚀

In this month's update, we're sharing highlights from the past month including job opportunities, key spaces we’re thinking about, and finally, some great female-hosted podcast recommendations! 💡

Fund News

This month, we hosted our first RippleX Fellowship San Francisco Social! At this event, our RippleX Fellowship Alumni Naz Thakkar and Mathura Ravigulan connected over 30 passionate builders and funders across SF at the Elysian House. Our goal is to help grow and support a community of like-minded students in key cities across North America, with a highly successful first stop in California! This will be the first of many to come so stay tuned for some other big community-building events 👀

Tank Talks: We dropped a fire podcast episode this month hosted by our very own Matt Cohen on Tank Talks 🔥 Matt chats with Morning Brew CEO and Twitter Celeb, Austin Rief, about the origins of the media empire, why he started investing, and why founders seek out other founders to be their investors. It’s not one to miss - you can check it out here: Tank TalksMorning Brew CEO Austin Rief on the Rise of the Solo Capitalist

  2. Thought Leadership Article: We also wrote about how Gen Z is found to be more comfortable online… than offline and what that means in the venture ecosystem 📲 Read about it here: Gen Z Doesn’t Need Investor Networks

Food for Thought

At Ripple, we’re committed to learning something new every day and sharing these new insights with the team. We’ve championed a culture of being hungry to learn about the world around us across a variety of industries and platforms. That’s why we’ve created this section of our Newsletter to share these interesting findings with you!

Here’s what we’ve been reading and listening to:

  • 🏙 Lately, we’ve been diving down the web3 rabbit hole, starting with Vitalik Buterin’s (creator of Ethereum) thoughts on ways municipal governments are adopting blockchain technology. He also covers key areas that cities are currently inefficient in, walks through how blockchain technology can improve those areas, and provides an overview of experiments he wants to see carried out. A great read if you want to see how blockchain can impact the future of cities and see its use cases outside of finance! Read all about it here!

  • ☁️ This podcast about Helium’s inception is really cool. Listen here!
